1 Peter 3:3-5
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful."
I've always been captured by this phrase - a gentle and quiet spirit. What is a gentle and quiet spirit? What comes to mine is a willowy silhouette in a flowing white gown, stitching with nimble and slender hands...Is it achievable by zany and boisterous me? The one always known to have the infectious laughter?
I believe we will always be that willowy silhouette in God's Eyes, no matter how crazy, fun-loving, wild, and groovy we are. It's all in the heart. A gentle and quiet spirit waiting on God.
