1912
Born in Gentilly in the Val-de-Marne, near Paris.
1930
Introduction to graphis design and commercial advertising photography.
1939
Meets Charles Rado, founder of the Rapho agency, followed by first attempts at street photography.
1946
Meets Raymond Grosset, then returns to the Rapho agency where he works with Blaise Cendrars.
1947
Won the Kodak Prize.
1956
Awards the Prix Nipce.
1968
Group exhibition "L'il objectif", Musse Cantini, Marseilles
1973
Produces a court mtrage with Francois Porcile, Le Paris de Robert Doisneau
1977
Group exhibition "Six Photographers in Search of Suburban Life", Centre George Pompidou, Paris
1983
Awards the grand prize of the France National Photography Award.
1986
Won the Balzac Prize.Published "A Certain Robert Doisneau", Credit foncier de France, Paris
1987
Solo exhibition "Robert Doisneau", Kahitsukan - Kyoto Museum of Contemporary Art, Kyoto
1992
Established La Maison Robert Doisneau, Gentilly, near Paris.

Dies on April 1.
